First to the most famous town in the lakes - Windermere. We travel down the full length of the lake and on to Coniston Water and some of the most picturesque villages in England - Coniston and delightful Hawkshead. We return to Ambleside to enjoy an included atmospheric cruise with the Steam Packet Company to Bowness on Windermere.
YORKSHIRE DALES & THE SETTLE-CARLISLE RAIL
A fabulous tour of England’s rugged Yorkshire Dales landscape along the wonderful Settle-Carlisle Rail. We join the train at the village of Settle (fare included) and venture on to Appleby over the magnificent viaducts, through hand hewn gorges and tunnels - set upon the backdrop of a stunning panorama. We rejoin the coach and continue on to Carlisle, rich in history; visit the Castle, the Cathedral and vibrant mix of shops.

A feature day seeing the best of the Northern Lakes. A day of spectacular glaciated scenery, from rugged mountains to lakes and villages along the valley floors. Past the tranquil waters of Ullswater to Patterdale and over the magnificent Kirkstone Pass. On to Ambleside and Grasmere. A chance to visit Dove Cottage, the former home of Wordsworth. North along the banks of Thirlmere and on to Keswick, nestled on the shores of Derwentwater.
