SATURDAY
We commence with a journey to Kent for our crossing of the English Channel. We continue through France to our first overnight hotel for an evening meal and pleasant night’s rest.
SUNDAY
On across France and in to Switzerland at Basel. We arrive at Lake Lucerne and the Seehotel Pilatus in Hergiswil in time for a relaxing evening dinner.
MONDAY
An easy day with a visit to nearby Medieval Lucerne. An incredibly picturesque city, Lucerne is guaranteed to leave lasting memories; fabulous wooden bridges, frescoed buildings, narrow streets, alleyways, delightful gardens, lakeside walks, fascinating museums, cafes, bars and wonderful stores. You will delight in exploring the city.
TUESDAY
Along the banks of Lake Brienz to the mountain town of Interlaken, set below the mighty Jungfrau massif. Enjoy relaxing in the comfort of your coach as we travel high into the mountains or take the opportunity of an optional tour on the narrow gauge railway to the world famous resort of Grindelwald. Don’t forget your cameras!
WEDNESDAY
A day to relax and enjoy the fabulous position of the hotel. Bathe in the fresh waters of the Lake or explore the nearby village. For the more adventurous, your drivers will assist in arranging cable car or mountain rail rides to the top of the adjacent Mount Pilatus. The views are simply stunning. Or why not take the opportunity of a cruise on one of the Lake’s fabulous paddle steamers.
THURSDAY
More breathtaking scenery as we take head along the route of the Glacier Express. An opportunity to ride on the ‘Schollengen’ gorge train to Andermatt, then up to the 2,033m high Oberalp Pass.
FRIDAY
Farewell to Switzerland and back through France for our last nights evening meal and accommodation in Belgium.
SATURDAY Back across the Channel. Returning home mid-evening with everlasting memories.
Switzerland still has its own currency the Swiss Franc, though most stores will accept Euro.
